Break-even is your annualised stack spend divided by users and by twelve. Any per-user rate below it consolidates the stack at a lower cost than you pay now. Model-provider charges and the infrastructure running the models remain separate in every case.

On-premises VDF AI is licensed by seat, in fixed annual Seat Bundles. Every seat includes the full platform — unlimited agents and workflows, and interactive use by its holder — and the licence never meters model tokens. Seats and API calls are licensed separately, so this step counts only the people.
Count the people who will use VDF AI interactively — chat, agent building, workflow design, review. A seat belongs to one named individual and is not shared; it can be reassigned when its holder leaves or changes role. Seats can be added during the term in blocks of 10.
System-driven work is licensed as API calls: one inbound programmatic request — an API call, a scheduled job execution, or a triggered workflow — counted once however much processing runs inside it. API access is added through API Expansion Packs; if your teams only work interactively, leave this step at zero.
Very large seat counts and API volumes are usually best served by the Enterprise bundle: unlimited seats and unlimited API calls, Premium Support, a dedicated Solution Architect, and a three-month platform trial at no licence fee. API Expansion Pack spend is credited in full against an upgrade to Enterprise taken in the same term.
Seats and API calls are independent: a team that works interactively never pays for API capacity, and agents, workflows and integrations within entitlement never raise the licence fee. This is an estimate to bring to a sizing workshop, not a quote: VDF AI models your seats and API calls and recommends a bundle — Essential, Foundation, Growth, Scale or Enterprise — before any commitment is made.
Two effects, and they are independent. One VDF AI seat — the full platform, with unlimited agents and workflows — can replace several per-seat AI tools for each user. Routing, evaluation and orchestration reduce what the infrastructure underneath costs to run.
The VDF AI Seat Bundle itself is a separate, fixed annual line — sized on the seats and API calls above and agreed in a sizing workshop before the term starts, not invoiced after it. Pricing is provided on request, in a sizing workshop, or through an authorized VDF AI partner. Multi-year terms carry a discount and fix the price for the committed term.
