VDF AI Documentation

Google

Connect Google Drive, Calendar, and optional Gmail so VDF AI can work with your files, meetings, and email drafts.

What Google unlocks

Google can bring these workflows into VDF AI:

  • search and summarize files from Drive
  • use calendar context for meeting prep and follow-up
  • draft emails in Gmail if your workspace enables it

How to connect Google

  1. Open Integrations in VDF AI.
  2. Choose Google.
  3. Select the Google services you want to use.
  4. Sign in with the Google account that contains the files or calendar data you need.
  5. Approve the requested access and return to VDF AI.

If your workspace allows optional Gmail access, you can enable it later instead of approving it on day one.

Typical tasks after connecting

  • “Find the latest onboarding document in Drive and summarize it.”
  • “Prepare notes for tomorrow’s meetings using my calendar.”
  • “Compare this attached document with the version stored in Drive.”
  • “Draft a follow-up email based on the meeting summary.”

Access you may approve

In plain terms, Google access usually covers:

  • reading selected Drive files
  • reading calendar events needed for scheduling or preparation
  • optional Gmail draft or send access if email workflows are enabled

Approve only the services your team plans to use.

Reconnect or disconnect

Reconnect Google if:

  • the wrong Google account was used
  • the connection expired
  • you changed the services you want to authorize

Disconnect Google if you no longer want Drive, Calendar, or Gmail context available in VDF AI.

Troubleshooting

I do not see the files I expected

Make sure you connected the correct Google account and that the file lives in the part of Drive your account can access.

Calendar content is missing

Confirm the events are in a calendar visible to the connected account.

Gmail drafting is unavailable

Your workspace may not have enabled Gmail access, or it may not have been approved during connection.
