What Jira unlocks
Jira is one of the most valuable integrations for delivery teams. It helps VDF AI work with:
- backlog refinement
- issue and story creation
- comments and follow-up actions
- sprint and delivery context
- cockpit metrics such as velocity, throughput, and cycle time
How to connect Jira
- Open Integrations in VDF AI.
- Choose Jira.
- Start the Jira connection flow.
- Sign in with the Atlassian account that has access to the right Jira site.
- Return to VDF AI and confirm the workspace shows Jira as connected.
Some workspaces may also ask you to choose the project or board you want to use most often.
Typical tasks after connecting
- “Create a user story for Google sign-in with acceptance criteria.”
- “Review our backlog and suggest the top priorities for next sprint.”
- “Find issues missing descriptions and propose clarifying questions.”
- “Summarize current sprint risks.”
Access you may approve
In user terms, Jira access usually allows VDF AI to:
- read issues, boards, and project metadata
- create or update issues when you trigger that action
- read the activity needed for delivery summaries and metrics
Reconnect or disconnect
Reconnect Jira if you changed accounts, access expired, or the wrong Jira site was selected.
Disconnect Jira if you no longer want VDF AI to read backlog context or create work there.
Troubleshooting
I cannot see Jira actions in Chat
Refresh the workspace after connecting Jira. If the workspace still does not show Jira options, reconnect the integration.
The project or board is not the one I expected
Reconnect Jira and make sure you use the Atlassian account tied to the correct Jira site.
Metrics are missing in the cockpit
Jira may be connected, but the workspace may not have enough recent project activity yet or the selected account may not have access to the relevant board.
