Enterprise AI

AI systems designed for production use in large organisations, with governance, security, and integration requirements.

What is Enterprise AI?

Enterprise AI differs from consumer AI in its demands: data sovereignty, role-based access, audit trails, integration with existing systems, and compliance with industry-specific regulation. It is not a product category — it is a set of constraints that every AI product, model, and workflow must satisfy before an enterprise deploys it. See Enterprise AI and Enterprise AI Platform Must-Have Features.

Why it matters for on-premise & regulated AI

What separates enterprise AI from consumer AI is not model quality — it is the surrounding requirements: access control, audit trails, data residency, vendor risk, and uptime commitments. Deployment model is the first fork in every enterprise AI evaluation. Organizations in regulated sectors increasingly specify on-premises or sovereign-cloud hosting in the RFP itself, because retrofitting residency onto a cloud-only product rarely survives security review.
