Asana Integration
What it does
- Connect Asana so VDF can help with project and task management, team collaboration, and productivity insights. VDF can access your Asana projects and help create, update, and analyze tasks.
Adding the App
- In VDF, go to Integrations → Asana → Connect.
- Sign in with your Asana account and grant access to VDF.
- You'll be redirected back to VDF. Select your projects and workspaces.
- Confirm the connection shows "Connected" for your selected projects.
Usage
Prerequisites:
- An active VDF account and Asana account with project access.
- Recommended: Ensure you have the necessary permissions to authorize Asana apps and access your projects.
After connecting:
- VDF can access your Asana projects and tasks.
- You can create, update, and organize tasks directly from VDF conversations.
- Team productivity insights and project analytics become available.
Use in VDF (examples):
- Ask in chat: "Create a new task for implementing user authentication with detailed description and assignee."
- Ask: "Show me all overdue tasks and prioritize them by importance."
- Ask: "Update all tasks in the current project with their latest status and progress."
- Ask: "Generate a project report with completed tasks and remaining work."
Removing the App
There are two parts: disconnect in VDF and remove access in Asana.
-
Disconnect in VDF (stops processing immediately):
- In VDF, go to Integrations → Asana → Disconnect.
- This removes your active Asana authorization from VDF and stops project access.
-
Remove access in Asana (Account settings):
- Open your Asana account → Settings → Connected Apps.
- Find "VDF" (or your app name) and select it.
- Click Remove access.
Potential implications of removal:
- VDF will no longer be able to access your Asana projects.
- Existing VDF artifacts (project reports, insights) remain available until deleted per your workspace retention settings.
- Any stored authorization tokens are revoked; future Asana access is blocked.
Tips
- Start with specific projects if you have access to many Asana workspaces.
- Use VDF to generate comprehensive task descriptions and subtasks.
- You can change your project selection anytime in the Asana integration settings.
