Notion Integration

What it does

  • Connect Notion so VDF can help with workspace collaboration, document management, and knowledge organization. VDF can access your Notion pages and databases to provide intelligent search and content analysis.

Adding the App

  1. In VDF, go to Integrations → Notion → Connect.
  2. Sign in with your Notion account and grant access to VDF.
  3. You'll be redirected back to VDF. Select your workspaces and pages.
  4. Confirm the connection shows "Connected" for your selected workspaces.

Usage

Prerequisites:

  • An active VDF account and Notion account with workspace access.
  • Recommended: Ensure you have the necessary permissions to authorize Notion apps and access your workspaces.

After connecting:

  • VDF can access your Notion pages and databases.
  • You can search and analyze content across your Notion workspace.
  • Knowledge management and content organization become available.

Use in VDF (examples):

  1. Ask in chat: "Find all pages in my Notion workspace that mention 'project timeline' and summarize the key points."
  2. Ask: "Help me organize my Notion database by creating a logical structure for project documentation."
  3. Ask: "Analyze my team's knowledge base and suggest improvements for content organization."
  4. Ask: "Generate a summary of all meeting notes from the last month in my Notion workspace."

Removing the App

There are two parts: disconnect in VDF and remove access in Notion.

  • Disconnect in VDF (stops processing immediately):

    1. In VDF, go to Integrations → Notion → Disconnect.
    2. This removes your active Notion authorization from VDF and stops workspace access.
  • Remove access in Notion (Account settings):

    1. Open your Notion account → Settings → Connected Apps.
    2. Find "VDF" (or your app name) and select it.
    3. Click Remove access.

Potential implications of removal:

  • VDF will no longer be able to access your Notion workspace.
  • Existing VDF artifacts (content summaries, insights) remain available until deleted per your workspace retention settings.
  • Any stored authorization tokens are revoked; future Notion access is blocked.

Tips

  • Start with specific pages if you have a large Notion workspace to improve performance.
  • Use VDF to generate comprehensive content summaries and knowledge insights.
  • You can change your workspace selection anytime in the Notion integration settings.

Examples and use cases
