Trello Integration

What it does

  • Connect Trello so VDF can help with board management, card creation, and project tracking. VDF can access your Trello boards and help organize tasks, create cards, and provide project insights.

Adding the App

  1. In VDF, go to Integrations → Trello → Connect.
  2. Sign in with your Trello account and grant access to VDF.
  3. You'll be redirected back to VDF. Select your boards and lists.
  4. Confirm the connection shows "Connected" for your selected boards.

Usage

Prerequisites:

  • An active VDF account and Trello account with board access.
  • Recommended: Ensure you have the necessary permissions to authorize Trello apps and access your boards.

After connecting:

  • VDF can access your Trello boards and cards.
  • You can create, update, and organize cards directly from VDF conversations.
  • Project insights and board analytics become available.

Use in VDF (examples):

  1. Ask in chat: "Create a new card in the 'In Progress' list for implementing user authentication."
  2. Ask: "Show me all cards in the 'To Do' list and prioritize them by due date."
  3. Ask: "Move all completed cards to the 'Done' list and update their status."
  4. Ask: "Generate a project summary with completed tasks and remaining work."

Removing the App

There are two parts: disconnect in VDF and remove access in Trello.

  • Disconnect in VDF (stops processing immediately):

    1. In VDF, go to Integrations → Trello → Disconnect.
    2. This removes your active Trello authorization from VDF and stops board access.
  • Remove access in Trello (Account settings):

    1. Open your Trello account → Settings → Connected Apps.
    2. Find "VDF" (or your app name) and select it.
    3. Click Remove access.

Potential implications of removal:

  • VDF will no longer be able to access your Trello boards.
  • Existing VDF artifacts (project summaries, insights) remain available until deleted per your workspace retention settings.
  • Any stored authorization tokens are revoked; future Trello access is blocked.

Tips

  • Start with specific boards if you have access to many Trello workspaces.
  • Use VDF to generate comprehensive card descriptions and checklists.
  • You can change your board selection anytime in the Trello integration settings.
