Dynamics 365 Integration
What it does
- Connect Dynamics 365 so VDF can help with CRM data analysis, customer insights, and business process automation. VDF can access your Dynamics 365 data to provide context-aware answers and generate reports.
Adding the App
- In VDF, go to Integrations → Microsoft → Dynamics 365 → Connect.
- Sign in with your Microsoft account and grant access to VDF.
- You'll be redirected back to VDF. Select your Dynamics 365 organization.
- Confirm the connection shows "Connected" for your selected organization.
Usage
Prerequisites:
- An active VDF account and Dynamics 365 account with appropriate permissions.
- Recommended: Ensure you have the necessary permissions to authorize Microsoft apps and access Dynamics 365 data.
After connecting:
- VDF can access your Dynamics 365 entities and records.
- You can analyze customer data and generate business insights.
- CRM data becomes available for AI-powered analysis and reporting.
Use in VDF (examples):
- Ask in chat: "Show me the top 10 customers by revenue this quarter from Dynamics 365."
- Ask: "Analyze the sales pipeline and identify opportunities that need attention."
- Ask: "Generate a customer satisfaction report based on recent interactions."
- Ask: "Find all leads that haven't been contacted in the last 30 days."
Removing the App
There are two parts: disconnect in VDF and remove access in Microsoft.
-
Disconnect in VDF (stops processing immediately):
- In VDF, go to Integrations → Microsoft → Dynamics 365 → Disconnect.
- This removes your active Microsoft authorization from VDF and stops Dynamics 365 access.
-
Remove access in Microsoft (Account settings):
- Open your Microsoft account → Security → App permissions.
- Find "VDF" (or your app name) and select it.
- Click Remove access.
Potential implications of removal:
- VDF will no longer be able to access your Dynamics 365 data.
- Existing VDF artifacts (reports, insights) remain available until deleted per your workspace retention settings.
- Any stored authorization tokens are revoked; future Dynamics 365 access is blocked.
Tips
- Start with specific entities if you have a large Dynamics 365 instance.
- Use VDF to generate comprehensive customer reports and business insights.
- You can change your organization selection anytime in the Microsoft integration settings.
