Microsoft Teams Integration

What it does

  • Connect Microsoft Teams so VDF can help with chat analysis, meeting insights, and team collaboration. VDF can access your Teams conversations and provide intelligent summaries and context-aware answers.

Adding the App

  1. In VDF, go to Integrations → Microsoft → Teams → Connect.
  2. Sign in with your Microsoft account and grant access to VDF.
  3. You'll be redirected back to VDF. Select your Teams and channels.
  4. Confirm the connection shows "Connected" for your selected Teams.

Usage

Prerequisites:

  • An active VDF account and Microsoft 365 account with Teams access.
  • Recommended: Ensure you have the necessary permissions to authorize Microsoft apps and access Teams.

After connecting:

  • VDF can access your Teams conversations and meetings.
  • You can analyze chat history and get meeting insights.
  • Team collaboration data becomes available for AI-powered analysis.

Use in VDF (examples):

  1. Ask in chat: "Summarize the key decisions from yesterday's team meeting in Teams."
  2. Ask: "Find all mentions of the project deadline in our team chat and create a timeline."
  3. Ask: "Analyze team communication patterns and suggest improvements for collaboration."
  4. Ask: "Generate a weekly team activity report with key discussions and decisions."

Removing the App

There are two parts: disconnect in VDF and remove access in Microsoft.

  • Disconnect in VDF (stops processing immediately):

    1. In VDF, go to Integrations → Microsoft → Teams → Disconnect.
    2. This removes your active Microsoft authorization from VDF and stops Teams access.
  • Remove access in Microsoft (Account settings):

    1. Open your Microsoft account → Security → App permissions.
    2. Find "VDF" (or your app name) and select it.
    3. Click Remove access.

Potential implications of removal:

  • VDF will no longer be able to access your Teams conversations.
  • Existing VDF artifacts (meeting summaries, insights) remain available until deleted per your workspace retention settings.
  • Any stored authorization tokens are revoked; future Teams access is blocked.

Tips

  • Start with specific Teams if you have access to many Microsoft 365 organizations.
  • Use VDF to generate comprehensive meeting summaries and action items.
  • You can change your Teams selection anytime in the Microsoft integration settings.
