Microsoft 365 Integration

What it does

  • Connect Microsoft 365 so VDF can help with comprehensive productivity tools, document management, and collaboration. VDF can access your Microsoft 365 suite and provide intelligent analysis across all your productivity applications.

Adding the App

  1. In VDF, go to Integrations → Microsoft → Microsoft 365 → Connect.
  2. Sign in with your Microsoft account and grant access to VDF.
  3. You'll be redirected back to VDF. Select your Microsoft 365 applications.
  4. Confirm the connection shows "Connected" for your selected applications.

Usage

Prerequisites:

  • An active VDF account and Microsoft 365 account with suite access.
  • Recommended: Ensure you have the necessary permissions to authorize Microsoft apps and access your Microsoft 365 applications.

After connecting:

  • VDF can access your Microsoft 365 applications and data.
  • You can analyze productivity patterns and get collaboration insights.
  • Cross-application data analysis and insights become available.

Use in VDF (examples):

  1. Ask in chat: "Analyze my Microsoft 365 usage patterns and suggest productivity improvements."
  2. Ask: "Generate a comprehensive report across all my Microsoft 365 applications."
  3. Ask: "Find all documents related to the project across Word, Excel, and PowerPoint."
  4. Ask: "Help me organize my Microsoft 365 workspace for better collaboration."

Removing the App

There are two parts: disconnect in VDF and remove access in Microsoft.

  • Disconnect in VDF (stops processing immediately):

    1. In VDF, go to Integrations → Microsoft → Microsoft 365 → Disconnect.
    2. This removes your active Microsoft authorization from VDF and stops Microsoft 365 access.
  • Remove access in Microsoft (Account settings):

    1. Open your Microsoft account → Security → App permissions.
    2. Find "VDF" (or your app name) and select it.
    3. Click Remove access.

Potential implications of removal:

  • VDF will no longer be able to access your Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Existing VDF artifacts (productivity reports, insights) remain available until deleted per your workspace retention settings.
  • Any stored authorization tokens are revoked; future Microsoft 365 access is blocked.

Tips

  • Start with specific applications if you have many Microsoft 365 services to improve performance.
  • Use VDF to generate comprehensive productivity reports and collaboration insights.
  • You can change your application selection anytime in the Microsoft integration settings.
