Asana

Connect Asana so tasks across your workspaces become searchable context for VDF AI.

What Asana unlocks

Asana brings task-level delivery state into reach.

VDF AI can then work with:

  • tasks across the projects in your workspaces
  • notes, assignees, due dates, and completion status
  • project structure, so questions can be scoped to one initiative

How to connect Asana

  1. Open Integrations in VDF AI.
  2. Choose Asana.
  3. Select Connect and sign in to Asana when its authorization page opens.
  4. Select Allow to approve the connection.
  5. Return to VDF AI and confirm the card shows Connected.

Your administrator has to register Asana client credentials before this flow will start.

Typical tasks after connecting

  • summarise what is open and overdue for one project
  • find every task mentioning a customer or feature name
  • draft a status note from the tasks closed since last week

Access you may approve

Approval covers the workspaces the authorising account belongs to, their non-archived projects, and the tasks inside them. Comments and attachments are not read. Large workspaces are read up to a fixed task count per sync.

Reconnect or disconnect

Asana access is renewed automatically. Reconnect from the card if renewal fails — most often because the approval was revoked from Asana’s My Settings → Apps.

Disconnect to stop VDF AI reading task data entirely.

Troubleshooting

The card says Connected but projects are missing

Access follows the account you approved. A project that account cannot open in Asana is not reachable here either.

Task data lags behind Asana

Content refreshes per sync, so very recent edits may not appear immediately.
