Connect once with Microsoft to reach OneDrive, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Planner, SharePoint, Azure DevOps, and Dynamics 365.

What Microsoft unlocks

One Microsoft sign-in authorises every Microsoft app in the catalogue. You approve the account once and choose which of these it covers:

  • OneDrive — browse and pull cloud files
  • Microsoft 365 — Graph-backed access to the productivity content your account already reaches
  • Outlook — mail, calendar, and contacts context
  • Microsoft Planner — plans, buckets, and task assignments
  • SharePoint Online — team sites and document libraries
  • Azure DevOps — Azure DevOps Services work tracking and repositories
  • Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations — ERP and financial management data

For an on-premises Azure DevOps Server or TFS instance, use the separate Team Foundation Server connector instead — it authenticates with a token rather than through Microsoft.

How to connect Microsoft

  1. Open Integrations in VDF AI.
  2. Choose Microsoft.
  3. Sign in with the Microsoft account you use for work.
  4. Approve the requested access.
  5. Return to VDF AI and confirm the connection shows as active.

Access is granted incrementally: approving one app does not silently authorise the rest, and you can come back to add another later.

Typical tasks after connecting

  • “Find the latest requirements file in OneDrive and summarize it.”
  • “Which SharePoint site holds the current vendor contracts?”
  • “Prepare talking points for today’s Microsoft 365 meeting notes.”
  • “Summarise what my team has open in Planner this sprint.”
  • “Compare the attached file with the version stored in our Microsoft workspace.”

Access you may approve

Depending on your workspace and the apps you enable, the connection can request:

  • files and folders in OneDrive, SharePoint, or related Microsoft 365 content
  • profile and sign-in identity
  • mail, calendar, or scheduling information used for meeting context
  • work item and repository data from Azure DevOps
  • finance and operations records from Dynamics 365

Some tenants require an administrator to consent on the organisation’s behalf before individual users can complete this flow.

Reconnect or disconnect

Reconnect the app if your Microsoft session expired or the wrong account was used. Disconnect it if you no longer want Microsoft content available inside VDF AI.

Troubleshooting

I connected the wrong tenant or account

Disconnect the app, then reconnect using the correct Microsoft account.

Files are missing

Confirm the connected account can access the OneDrive or Microsoft 365 content you expected.

One app works but another is unavailable

Each app is consented separately. Reconnect and approve the app you are missing, or ask your tenant administrator whether it is blocked at the organisation level.

The sign-in window failed

Try again in a fresh browser tab and confirm pop-ups are not being blocked.
